Manchester United have finally sacked Jose Mourinho, and it’s fair to say that the Playmaker FC squad are hardly surprised after the embarrassing 3-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
Mourinho set his side up to defend at the home of their most bitter rivals and if it wasn’t for the mistake from Liverpool keeper Alisson, the scoreline could have been far more damning for the Red Devils.
Having finished second last season, Mourinho’s United endured a terrible start to their 2018/19 campaign. Now, with the controversial Portuguese boss gone, they sit in sixth place in the table going into the busy Christmas period.
With 19 points separating United and Liverpool, whoever comes in as caretaker manager until the end of the season will have a tough task, but the Playmakers clearly feel the right decision was taken.
In fact, Joe Street went as far as saying it was ‘the best thing to happen to the club in the last two and a half years’.
