Things just seem to be going from bad to worse at Tottenham Hotspur lately, and manager Jose Mourinho isn’t really helping the cause with his latest comments.
The Portuguese boss has slammed Tanguy Ndombele publicly once again by saying: “Somebody has to realise this is the Premier League. I hope that next season, he can be fantastic because until now, it is not enough.” before adding later in his post-match presser: “Some players, it takes a long time to adapt to a different league, but a player with this potential and responsibility has to give us more than he is giving us.”
It has led to a piece in The Athletic where a source has claimed that the Frenchman requires ‘more careful management’ than his manager coming down hard on him both on and off the field.
And fans have been left discussing the revelation on social media as a result, here’s what has been said…
Plenty went straight for the 23-year-old with his fitness and attitude being questioned.
One supporter labelled him as “an absolute fraud” of a player who needs to be out of the club as soon as possible, while another called him a “snowflake”.

Fans that had blasted Ndombele for being “unfit” and “overweight” also believe he is being totally unprofessional and that Mourinho was right to criticise him.
While others were on the other side of the fence, believing it was the manager at fault here…
A further member of the Spurs faithful claimed it was the manager’s “horrendous” man-management skills with another reinforcing this view by referencing Mourinho’s past and how he has done similar before at previous clubs.
While one fan believes Ndombele is a “scapegoat” for Spurs’ misfortune.
Some supporters didn’t criticise but instead handed out some words of encouragement to their club-record £55m signing.
Ndombele has featured in 27 matches this season, averaging just 51 minutes per game but has directly contributed to six goals in that time, via Transfermarkt.
