Arsenal fans reacted immediately on Twitter as Unai Emery named his side to face Fulham on New Year’s Day.
Out from the team that were humiliated by Liverpool went Stephan Lichtsteiner, Lucas Torreira and Aaron Ramsey, while German World Cup winner Mesut Ozil was nowhere to be seen again.
The 30-year-old has not been seen for the Gunners since Boxing Day, when Emery hauled the creative genius off at half-time having failed to make an impact against Sean Dyche’s struggling side.

Emery’s decision to drop Ozil for the Anfield trip heightened reports that the Emirates Stadium outfit will look to sell, or even loan, the German in January, and deciding against his inclusion at home to Fulham came after ESPN reported the midfielder wants to stay and fight for his place in the side.
Ozil’s absence for the Liverpool defeat was claimed to be due to an injury, one that the player himself complained of before withdrawing from travelling, but not every fan bought into that claim and brought the matter up again when he was not included to face Fulham.
