da winzada777: Erik ten Hag's team will go into next week's FA Cup final against Manchester City in high spirits after sealing third spot in the Premier League
da apostebet: Fred was the surprising star of the show as Manchester United rounded off an encouraging 2022-23 Premier League campaign with a 2-1 win over Fulham at Old Trafford. The hosts were lucky not to find themselves two goals down early on, with Aleksandar Mitrovic missing a penalty shortly after Kenny Tete had opened the scoring with a near-post header from a corner.
However, they made the most of a rare penalty save from David de Gea, with Jadon Sancho scoring from close range after the ball had been deflected into his path following Fred's run into the area. There was nothing lucky about United's second goal, though, with Fred finding Bruno Fernandes with a sublime pass that was given the finish it deserved.

David de Gea (8/10):
Nothing he could have done about the opener. Guessed right to keep out Mitrovic's poor spot-kick, meaning a first penalty save at Old Trafford for the Spaniard since 2014. Was also obviously key to United's comeback.
Diogo Dalot (6/10):
Got the nod at right-back with Aaron Wan-Bissaka among those rested and didn't really do enough to earn himself a start at Wembley.
Harry Maguire (6/10):
Happily, there were no embarrassing mishaps in what was probably the much-maligned defender's final start for the club, but his passing was typically haphazard.
Victor Lindelof (7/10):
Solid enough showing from the Swede, who made some important clearances and passed the ball well.
Tyrell Malacia (6/10):
Probably the pick of United's back four from a defensive perspective, but offered absolutely nothing going forward.

Casemiro (5/10):
Probably the signing of the season, but was indebted to De Gea for saving the penalty that he gave away with a clumsy challenge on Tom Cairney.
Fred (8/10):
United's best player without a shadow of a doubt, constantly winning tackles and creating chances. Effectively created both goals, the first with a surge into the area that led to Sancho slotting home, and then picking out Bruno with a wonderfully executed disguised pass.

Alejandro Garnacho (6/10):
Started in place of the injured Antony and went desperately close to an equaliser with a curling effort but had faded by the time he was withdrawn.
Bruno Fernandes (8/10):
A little loose in possession at times during the first half but generally at the centre of all of United's best attacking moves, and his goal was just reward for all his endeavour.
Jadon Sancho (6/10):
Left with a simple close-range finish after the ball deflected into his path shortly before the break but, truth be told, the winger did little else.
Marcus Rashford (5/10):
A constant threat but just wasn't his day. Had six efforts on goal before being substituted late on. United will be hoping he rediscovers his goalscoring touch for the cup final.

Anthony Martial (6/10):
Replaced Garnacho in the 67th minute but unable to do much to boost his hopes of starting against City.
Christian Eriksen (6/10):
Came on for Fred midway through the second half.
Scott McTominay (6/10):
Introduced in place of Casemiro and immediately made a big block on Cairney.
Wout Weghorst (N/A):
Took over up front from Rashford for the final 15 minutes but unable to make an impact.
Facundo Pellistri (N/A):
Only saw a few minutes of game time.
Erik ten Hag (7/10):
Not United's most impressive performance but they managed to get the job done after a very poor start. Ten Hag will be particularly pleased to have avoided any injuries ahead of their derby date with City and got over the line despite resting some regulars.
